1988
- The Company was incorporated as Public Limited Company on 16th March with the ROC and obtained the certificate of commencement of business on 7th of April.
1990
- The Company entered into an agreement with Indian Hospital Corporation Limited on 17th July. IHCL is providing technical consultancy and project consultancy for setting up, commissioning and functioning of the hospital.
1996
- The Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery have state-of-the-art facilities for cardiac care and treatment. 3 Catheterisation laboratores with Digital imaging & electrophysiology facilities have been set-up.
- The Neuro Sciences department is one of the few centres in Asia providing advanced neuro surgery facilities.
- Since August, 300 beds have been commissioned with an average occupancy of 200 beds.
- The Company is setting up `Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals` a 695 bed multi-disciplinary super specialty tertiary care hospital with state of the art facilities at a site on Delhi-Mathura Road, near Sarita Vihar, New Delhi.
- The Company proposes to set-up satellite centres in strategic locations in and around Delhi which will have 8-10 consultancy rooms and basic diagnostic facilities.
1997
- Indraprastha Medical Corporation Limited is entering the capital market with a public issue of 2,29,18,900 equity shares of Rs.10 each for cash at par aggregating to Rs.22,91,83,000.
- Indraprastha Medical Corporation is a multi-speciality 600-bed corporate hospital being set up in New Delhi. Besides the hospital complex the corporate hospital also has plans to set up five satellite centres.
- The first joint sector venture in healthcare in the country was set up in collaboration with NCT (National Capital Territory) of Delhi, bringing together the strategic focus and operational advantages of the private sector.
1998
- A combined team of cardiologists and neurologists successfully developed a new technique of safely embolizing septal artery without affecting vital circulation of the rest of the heart muscle. The hardware was a combination of material used in coronary angioplasty and cerebral AVM repairs. This procedure has been performed for the first time in the world.
- A new technique `thrombolysis` devised by the neuroradiology unit to treat early stroke victims involves injection of a special medicine directly into the clot within an artery in the brain to dissolve it.
- Palliative Medicine, for the first time in the country, being offered as a dedicated speciality service by the hospital, is a concept of medical care that provides for people who are terminally ill.
- The Assisted Reproductive Unit comprising a team of highly skilled and experienced specialists trained in the UK and USA has been commissioned.
- The hospital is one of the multicenteric multinational drug trial centres for drug control studies for hypertension.
1999
- The group also has an ambitious plan of setting up hospitals in Ludhiana, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Vizag and possibly Calcutta and Mumbai. Abroad, after Dubai and Muscat, the company is looking at East Africa and Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
- Besides the Delhi Government, IMCL has been promoted by Dr. Reddy and Shrodders Ventures of the UK who together hold 49 per cent stake in the company. The public holds a 25 per cent stake in IMCL.
- The agreement entered into between the promoters in 1998 gives an option to the Delhi Government to divest its 26 per cent stake in IMCL in three tranches once the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital becomes fully operational. The stake has to be divested at a pre-determined compounded rate or the prevailing market price, whichever is higher.

Indraprastha Medical’s net profit had fallen 11.9% to Rs 3.98 crore on a 19.4% rise in sales to Rs 68.67 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006.
1440 International patients from all over the world were treated in the Hospital (previous year 758 patients). The Hospital has tied up with the Embassy of fifteen countries to carry out health check ups of their employees.
Radiology Department of the Hospital has been renovated and upgraded with a 64 Slice CT Scan and 3.0 Tesla MRI and it has emerged as one of the best Radiology center in the region.
The Laboratory Services of the Hospital has been accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in six specialties i.e. Biochemistry, Hematology, Clinical pathology, Microbiology, Immunology and Histopathology - Cytopathology.
An additional Surgical day care unit with eight beds and Operation Theater has been commenced to meet the increasing demand.
The Hospital has introduced three new DNB Courses in the specialties of Respiratory Medicine, Family Medicine and Endocrinology.
More than 1600 Continuing Medical Education Programme (CME) with eminent faculty from India and abroad have been organized by the Hospital.
The Dialysis unit of the Hospital continued to be one of the major dialysis center in the region and at an average 1764 dialysis are done on monthly basis.
The Hospital has tied up with more than 50 new Corporate Body for providing healthcare facilities to their employees.
The Hospital has been ranked amongst the top ten Hospitals in India by `The Week` Magazine.
Prestigious affiliation - The Company, together with Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited, has entered in to an Agreement with the world famous M/s. John Hopkins Medicine International LLC., USA. The agreement provides for collaboration establishing Centers of Excellence in specific disciplines, continuing education for medical, para medical and administrative personnel, providing second opinion services to patients, and several other areas.
Expansion Plans
The Company has entered into an operations management agreement for managing a 50-bed hospital namely `Shree Digamber Hospital` at Bharatpur (Rajasthan) . It will also facilitate the Hospital to get patients referral for super specialty treatment.
Expanded its network in the NCR, your Company has set up a 57 bed Hospital in Sector 26, Noida (UP.) with an investment of around Rs. 15 crores. The Hospital is situated adjacent to the commercial hub of Sector 16 & 17, amidst the huge residential market of Noida. The Hospital is designed as a community Hospital, focusing on specialties like minimal access surgery, key hole orthopedics and Dialysis. The Hospital will also offer wellness programmes to cater to the large and growing population and corporates in the region. All major cases will be referred to the Main Hospital. The Hospital has commissioned out-patients services in March, 2006, and in-patients services in May, 2006.
The Hospital provided ambulance coverage for President Bush`s visit, Delhi Marathon, Bal Yogeshwar and Disaster exercise at IGI Airport. The Hospital also provided Emergency Medical Aid Support to India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The Hospital is major centre for international clinical trials.

The Toshiba Acquilon 64 row detector CT is a state-of-the-art technology. This highly fast and reliable diagnostic equipment is very useful for early diagnosis of coronary artery diseases through non interventional CT angiograms. This fastest modality of diagnosis is reliable for trauma examinations. Its accurate and confirmed diagnosis with reduced scan time helps the patient to walk away from the center immediately after the scan, thus eliminating hospitalization. The scanning time being less than 8 seconds even for a coronary angiogram the entire examination time will be less than 10 minutes.
